Routing Number

A routing number (sometimes also referred to as a Routing Transit Number or ABA Number) is a nine digit code used in the United States used to identify a financial institution for the purposes of money transfer.

The routing number appears on the bottom of negotiable instruments such as checks, and was originally designed to facilitate the sorting, bundling, and shipment of paper checks back to the check writer's account. The routing number is also used by Federal Reserve Banks and Automated Clearing House to process direct deposits, funds transfers, bill payments, and other automated transfers.

Routing numbers are derived from the transit numbers originated and assigned to financial institutions in 1910 by the American Bankers Association. Today, the terms Routing Number, Routing Transit Number, and ABA Number are used interchangeably.BFSFCU Routing Number.

BFSFCU's ABA/routing number is 2540-7417-0. You can find this number at the bottom of a BFSFCU check. You will see three groups of numbers. The first group is your routing number. The second is your account number, and the third is your check number.
